PARS Spectator Policy

The following spectator rules are consistent with those of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), and other national junior tours and national junior tournaments.

IMPORTANT: A violation of the spectator policy may result in penalty strokes or disqualification for the junior golfer involved. It is the JUNIOR GOLFER’S RESPONSIBILITY to make sure spectators do not cause a violation.

POLICY:
1. Golfers are NOT to receive any advice from any spectator – includes parents, relatives, friends. Some examples of advice:
a. Any direct verbal communication with the golfer
b. Any form of hand signals including gestures to influence any golfer’s
decisions
c. Providing golfer with written material
d. Positioning yourself to assist the golfer with aim and/or alignment

2. Penalties can and will be assessed based on the appearance of communication, even if no actual advice given. Please avoid the perception of giving advice.
NOTE: Spectators who need to talk with the golfer /s (i.e. – for health reasons, sunscreen, food, water, etc.) should do so in front of other spectators and/or other golfers and/or a Rules Official so there is never a one-on-one situation between the spectator /s and the golfer /s.

3. Whenever possible, from Tee to Putting Green – spectators are requested to stay at least 25 yards from any and all golfers at all times. Please do not follow directly behind the golfers as this often times prevents the following group from being able to play their shots. Spectators are requested to observe from the cart paths or “rough”; and, at the Putting Green – from areas surrounding the putting green so as to maintain a reasonable distance from the golfer /s.

CELL PHONES & BEEPERS: In order to avoid golfers being distracted, maintain at least a 50 yard separation from all players when these devices are turned on.

PARS DRESS CODE
All contestants are required to wear appropriate golf attire at all times while at the facility. Examples of inappropriate attire: Blue jeans, bike shorts, leggings, tank tops, tee shirts, midriff tops, halter tops, sports bras, short shorts/skirts (more than 5” above the knee or less than 5” inseam), and hats worn backwards. Please use discretion. Boys must wear collared shirts tucked in at all times. Improper attire may result in a player not being allowed to compete. Tournament Officials will enforce the dress code.
